Indian-Spiced Carrot Soup

Carrots, raw, 4 cup, chopped Onions, raw, 2 medium (2-1/2" dia) Lentils, 1 cup Ginger Root, 3 tsp Garlic, 2 cloves Cumin seed, 1 tsp Coriander seed, 1 tsp Chili powder, 1 tsp Ground tumeric, .33 tbsp Salt, 1 tsp Pepper, black, 1 tsp Allspice, 1 tsp Bay leaf, 2 pieces Vegetable Broth, 3.5 cup Water, tap, 2.5 cup (8 fl oz) Cilantro, raw, 2 tbsp
In slow cooker combine all ingredients except for fresh cilantro. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 8 hours.
Discard bay leaves. Transfer 2 cups to a blender and puree, return to slow cooker and stir in cilantro.
Serving Size: Makes 10 bowls.
