Paula's German Potato Soup

Ingredients
2 cup sliced potatoes (6 med)1 garlic1 onion, finely chopped and sauteed till soft3 cup water3 cup milk (I use 2%)3 Tbsp butter and cornstarchsalt & pepper to taste
Directions
Boil potatoes and garlic in the water until tender. Put potatoes and garlic through a ricer and add back to the water. Add the onions to the potato water mixture. In a sauce pan melt butter and stir in cornstarch. Add milk and stir till thick. Add to potato mixture. Simmer over low heat until reheated and ready to serve.

Do not boil.
