Festive Tossed Salad (Seymour)

Ingredients
1/3 c. sugar1/3 c. cider or red wine vinegar2 T. lemon juice2 T. finely chopped onion1/2 tsp. salt2/3 c. vegetable oil2-3 tsp. poppy seeds10 c. romaine, chopped4 oz. swiss cheese, shredded1 pear, diced1 apple, diced1/2 c. dried cranberries1/2 chopped cashews
Directions
In a blender, combine sugar, vinegar, lemon juice, onion & salt. Process until blended.

Gradually add oil and poppy seeds. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

In a large salad bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Toss with dressing just before serving.
