1 medium onion, peeled and chopped3 c rinsed black beans, dry2 T minced garlic5 t salt1.75 t pepper9 c water
Peel and chop onion, add to slow cooker. Rinse dry black beans (3 c = one 1 lb bag), add to slow cooker. Add the spices to the slow cooker, followed by the water. Cook on high for 8 hours, and then strain off some of the liquid.
