Ingredients
First....1 C Quick Oats1 1/2 C hot water1/2 C unsalted butterSecond....1 C sugar1 C Brown Sugar2 eggs1 1/2 C flour (sifted)1 t. baking soda1 t. cinnamon1/1 t. nutmegTopping...1/2 C Butter1/4 C Brown Sugar1 t. Vanilla1 C Coconut1 C nuts (walnuts)
Directions
makes 24 2 inch pieces

First - Pour the hot water over oats and butter. Let stand for about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile combine the Second ingredients and mix with the oats.

Pour into an oiled and floured 10 X 13 inch pan.
Bake for 30 minutes at 350 F.
When the cake is almost done make the topping.

Combine butter and sugar and boil into a syrup. Add Vanilla. Sprinkle cocnut and nuts over cake when it is hot. Pour syrup mixture over and put under broiler until browned.
