Hamburger Black Bean Soup

Ingredients
1 pound ground beef, 85% lean or better1 15-ounce can stewed tomatoes, low- or no-salt2 cups sweet peppers, chopped (I used 3 colors for fun)2 15-ounce cans black beans, low- or no-salt1/4 cup diced red onion1 teaspoon minced garlic2 cups chicken broth, low- or no-salt1/2 teaspoon Mrs. Dash Original1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, but a touch of heat is very nice!)
Directions
Brown the meat in a large saucepan with a cup of water (helps remove fat), chop into small chunks while cooking. Drain thoroughly, return meat to pan.
Add the rest of the ingredients. Simmer covered for 1/2 hour, leave covered and let sit for another 1/2 hour while flavors blend.

Serving Size: Makes about 8 1-cup servings at 278 calories each.
