Stuffed Cabbage

Ingredients
1 medium head of cabbage1 1/2 lb. ground beef1 cup of cooked white rice1 cup of sauerkraut2 cups of tomato sauce1 small onion, chopped
Directions
Boil cabbage to soften.
Meanwhile, mix the raw beef, cooked rice, onion together.
Put a small scoop of the mixture into each cabbage leaf and roll it.
Put about 1/2 cup of tomato sauce and half of the sauerkraut into a crock pot .
Arrange the cabbage rolls on top.
Top it off with remaining sauerkraut and tomato.
Cover and cook on low for about eight hours.

    I think the basics of the recipe work wonderfully. I switched out the beef for soy beef, and the rice for potatoes - but really, the value of a recipe like this is in its combination, and this combination works nicely! - 4/11/13

    Cooking thisi n the crock pot was a great idea! I substituted raw brown rice for the whiterice... and I used chopped garlic and fresh basil as well. Skipped the sauerkraut but it was very YUMMY!! - 2/23/11

    I made this last night - my kids ate it and liked it. I liked it even better the next day. I think next time I'll try NOT cooking the rice and adding more liquid to the crock pot... the mixture was a bit mushy for me. - 12/8/08
