Simple Black Bean Soup

Ingredients
Beans, black, 2 cup Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia)Garlic, 3 clovesSalt, 1 tspHot Pepper Sauce, 4 tspCocoa, dry powder, unsweetened, 1 tbsp Brown Sugar, 1 tsp unpacked
Directions
Put the dry beans in a pot, cover with a lot of water and boil for at least ten minutes.
Let sit for an hour.
Chop the onion and mince the garlic. Add them to the water. Turn the heat on til it is simmering. Cover for an hour simmering, stirring occasionally.
Add the cocoa powder, salt, hot pepper sauce, sugar and other seasonings if you wish.
Let simmer for a few hours longer.
Serve with cornbread or tortilla chips and a dab of sour cream
