Ingredients
4 tbsp pearl barley4 medium carrots diced1 small onion chopped1 medium leek chopped1 small turnip diced1 small potatoe diced1/4 head of savoy cabbage shredded2 chicken stock cubes3 pints of water 2 dried bay leavespinch of mixed herbs
Directions
add all ingredients into a large stock pot, bring to boil and simmer for 40-45 mins on a low heat until barly is tender. check the seasoning and add salt and pepper if needed. blend half the soup if you a thicker broth.
