Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

2 lbs ground meat (I used 85/15turkey)1 onion, diced4+ cloves of garlic, minced (to taste)1 medium (1-1.5 lbs) head of cabbage, chunked1 28 oz can of diced tomoatoes (NAS)black pepper (to taste)1 8 0z can tomato sauce (or paste)
in a dutch oven or other large stovetop pot on medium heat, brown meat and soften onions, garlic. drain off excess grease. add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and cabbage. bring to a boil and cover, reducing heat to a simmer. let it all mellow, stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes or however long you want.
