Cherry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream - Low Fat

Ingredients
1.5 cups pitted cherries3/4 cups skim milk1 3/4 cups Fat free half and half1/2 cups Granulated Sugar1/2 cup Mini Chocolate Chips1 pinch salt1 tsp almond extract
Directions
Put cherries, milk, one cup of the half and half, sugar and salt into a medium sauce pan. Heat on medium until the mixture steams. then lower heat and let sit for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and use an immersion blender to puree. (Or use a regular blender.) Add remaining cream and chill for several hours. before adding to ice cream maker add lemon juice and almond flavoring. Makes about 1 quart.
