Ingredients
For the Crust and Crumble1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour1/2 cup granulated sugar1/4 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon baking powder1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, cut into piecesFor the Filling3 medium apples (I used Fuji), peeled and cut into slices1/4 cup granulated sugar1/4 cup all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, more for dustingFor the Glaze1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar2 tablespoons milk1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Spray and 8-x-8-inch baking pan with nonstick spray. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
1. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Using a pastry cutter (or your hands), cut in butter until you have small crumbles. Set aside.
2. In another bowl, prepare the filling. Mix together sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Toss sliced apples in the mixture and coat evenly.
3. Press about 2/3 of the crumble mixture into the prepared baking pan. Spread apple slices evenly over the crust and top with remaining crumble mixture. Place in the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove from the oven and let cool.
4. When bars have almost finished cooling, mix together all the ingredients for the glaze until smooth. Drizzle over the bars and let set for 5 minutes before cutting in individual bars. Enjoy!
