Custard, Baked with Honey

2 cups whole milk4 eggs1/4 cup honey 1 tsp vanilla1/8 tsp salt 1/4 tsp nutmeg, ground
Preheat the oven to 325 F.
Gently warm the milk in a pot on the stove to slightly warmer than body temperature (test by sticking a clean finger in it).
Warm the eggs in a dish of hot water before cracking them. Beat or whisk the eggs, honey, vanilla, salt, and nutmeg together. Then whisk in the warmed milk. Pour into a 1 quart casserole dish. Place the dish in a pan of hot water place it all in the oven. Bake for about an hour or until a knife inserted into the custard comes out clean. Chill well before serving.
Serving Size: Makes 3 cups or 6 servings of 1/2 cup each
