Kale and Lentil Soup

8 cups water1 vegetable boullion cube4 cups fresh kale, chopped2 cups dried red or yellow lentils1 large onion, chopped1/2 tsp ginger root, grated3-4 tsp garlic, chopped1 tsp garam masala (Indian spice)1/4 tsp tumeric1/4 tsp cardamom1 tsp olive oildash salt to taste
Saute onion, garlic, and gingerroot in the olive oil until onions are clear. Add about 1/2 a cup of water and the kale and simmer until kale is soft.
Add all other ingredients and simmer the soup until the spices blend and the lentils are soft.
