Golden Syrup Dumplings

3 cups water1 cup brown sugar2 tb golden syrupjuice of 2 lemons2 cups Self Raising flour3 tb butter unsaltedpinch salt20 ml nonfat milk to mix to dough
In saucepan, mix sugar, juice and syrup in water and stir until dissolved, bring to slow simmer. Rub butter, salt and flour together until mixture resembles breadcrumbs, then mix in milk to form a dough. Roll into walnut size balls and place in syrup mixture. Simmer gently for 20 minutes. Tastes great with cream, ice cream or custard.
