Ham and Bean Soup

1 Cup of Great Northwestern Beans4 Cups Water1 Cup of Chopped Ham1.5 Cups of Sliced Cerely1 Cup of Chopped Onion1/2 tsp salt1/4 tsp pepper1 bay leaf
Rinse beans. In a large saucepan compines beans and water. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat. cover and let stand for 1 hour. Drain and rinse beans. In the same pan combine beans, fresh water, pork, cerely, onion, salt peper and bay leaf. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover; simmer about 1 hour or till beans are tender. Remove bay leaf. mash beans a little. Serve. 4 main dish servings.
