5.0 serving JENNIE-O TURKEY STORE Sweet Lean Italian Turkey Sausage3.0 cup, chopped Cabbage, red, fresh1.0 cup, chopped Onions, raw3.0 stalk, large (11"-12" long) Celery, raw4.0 cup (8 fl oz) Chicken Broth4.0 cup Vegetable Broth0.66 cup White Rice, long grain, cooked2.0 cup (8 fl oz) Chicken Broth or Bouillon1.0 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil3.5 cup Crushed tomatoes
Remove sausage from casing and brown in a soup pot. Add oil if it is sticking to the pan. Once the sausage is cooked add the onion, celery, and garlic. Saute until soft. Add the broths and tomatoes along with 1/3 cup uncooked rice and seasonings. Cook for 30 minutes. I also included a dash of tobasco sauce and a sprig of fresh thyme.
