French Onion Soup

Ingredients
1 medium onion cut up1 tbsp butter1.75 cup water2 cubes beef bouillon1 slice bread0.25 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
Peel the onion and cut up into a pot. Cook on low heat with butter until the onion is soft, about 20 minutes. Add water and turn heat to high. When water is boiling add the beef bouillon and simmer for 20 minutes. Poor into an oven proof soup bowl. Break up the bread on top and sprinkle on the shredded cheese. Put in oven under broiler until the cheese is melted. Then serve.
