Swiss Chard saute with onions and garlic

200 grams Swiss Chard (estimate from 4 leaves and stems)2 tsp Butter1 tsp Canola Oil1 medium Onion, quartered and sliced thin1 clove Garlic, peeled and minced 1 Tbsp Ginger Root 1/2 tsp crushed red peppers, optionalSalt and Pepper, to taste
Heat 1 tsp of the butter and about 1/2 tsp of the oil in a pan. Add onions and cook till golden while you chop other ingredients.
Thinly slice the chard stems separately from more coarsely sliced leaves.
Next, add the garlic and ginger to the pan and brown them along with crushed chilies if desired. Once they are starting to brown, add the 2nd tsp of butter and the chard stems. Cook till soft (may have to cover the pan to steam them a bit). When stems are a bit soft, add in the leaves, the remaining oil, and salt and pepper. cook just until leaves wilt, stirring a couple of times.
Serving Size: Estimated 6 c chopped raw and yield of about 2 c cooked; 3 servings about 2/3 c
