3 quarts apples, sliced2/3 cup brown sugar1/4 cup whole wheat flour1/4 tsp. salt2 tsp. cinnamonTOPPING:1 cup oatmeal1 cup oat bran1/2 cup brown sugar1/2 cup whole wheat flour1/2 tsp. baking soda1/2 tsp. baking powder1 tsp. cinnamon1/2 tsp. salt1/4 cup butter, softened1/4 cup buttermilk
Mix all filling ingredients and pour into a greased 9'x13' baking dish. For topping combine all dry ingredients and mix in butter with your hand mixing thouroughly. Mix in buttermilk with a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle on top of apples. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes to an hour until topping is browned and apples are soft. Makes 12 servings.

Yellow delicious are very good in baked goods. Really almost anything would be better than red delicious. They should only be eaten raw.
