Italian Beef and Lentil Slow-Cooker Stew

Ingredients
1 small onion, chopped1 medium garlic clove, minced1 large zucchini, diced1 pound lean beef round, cut into 1 inch chunks1/2 tsp dried oregano, crushed14 1/2 oz can of diced tomatoes, undrained1 tbsp canned tomatoe paste3/4 cup dry lentils4 cup canned beef broth1 tsp table salt1/4 tsp black pepper1/4 cup basil, fresh, slivered
Directions
Place all ingredients, except basil, in a 5 quart or large slow cooker, stir well. Cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours.

Remove cover; stir in basil. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 5 minutes more

Yields about 1 1/2 cups per serving
