Meaty red beans and rice

Ingredients
16 oz beef, ground or in strips1 small or 1/2 medium onion1/2 cup dry long grain brown rice3/4 cup beef broth1 can red beans or kidney beans (drained and rinsed)1 can diced stewed tomatoes1 green pepper, dicedcumin, chili powder, and garlic to taste
Directions
Brown beef with onion and seasonings
Add dry rice and saute quickly
Add broth, beans, tomatoes, and green pepper.

Bring to a simmer and turn to low; cook til rice is fully cooked and sauce thickens up, about 1 hour.
