2L water400g split peas2 bay leaves1 stick cinnamon1tbsp salt1/4 raw celeriac1 big carrot, chopped1 leek, in rings1 medium onion, chopped
Put the water, bay leaves, cinnamon, salt and the split peas in a big pot and boil for 45 minutes, make sure to get the foam out every now and then. In the mean while, chop up the vegetables.
When the 45 minutes have passed, add the vegetables and let it boil for another 30 minutes.
Now it's ready to eat. Don't worry if you have leftovers, it usually tastes even better the next day.
