Mama's Chocolate Pie

3 cups milk2 cups sugar½ cup flour½ cup cocoa3 egg yolks1 stick butter1 teaspoon vanilla
Makes one deep-dish pie crust full or two regular sized pie crusts. Bake crust before you start the chocolate filling.
Get the water boiling in the bottom pan of the double boiler. Put top pan on boiler and add first 5 ingredients to top pan and stir with a whisk or spoon (wooden spoon – won’t get hot and burn your hand while you are stirring).
Put in stick of butter when the mixture starts getting thick. Stir then remove from heat.
Add vanilla after you take it off the stove. Spoon into prepared pie crust.
