2 c. old-fashioned oats1/2 c. wheat germ2 tb. brown sugar1/8 tsp salt1/3 c. slivered almonds 1/4 c. pure maple syrup1 tb. water3 tb. canola oil1/2 tsp. cinnamon1 tsp. fresh orange zest1/3 c. craisins1/3 c. raisins1/3 c. coconut1/3 c. mini chocolate chips
Mix together in a large bowl, oats, wheat germ, brown sugar, salt, and almonds. In a small sauce pan, put the maple syrup, oil, water, cinnamon and orange zest. Bring to a simmer over low hear for about 3 minutes. Pour over oat mixture and stir to coat.
Lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Spread the oat mixture on pan and scrunch with hands to make clumps. Bake at 275 degrees for 30 minutes. Add the craisins, raisins and coconut and toss lightly. Bake an additional 15 minutes until light golden brown and crisp. Remove from oven and let cool completely. Add the chocolate chips. Store in an air tight container for up to 2 weeks.
