Slow cooker turkey chili

Ingredients
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil1 1/2 pounds ground turkey1/4 cup chili powder4 teaspoons salt1 tsp cayenne pepper4 garlic cloves minced3 jalapenos, seeded and minced4 1/2 cups skinless turkey meat cooked1 can crushed tomatoes1 can tomato paste1/4 cup cilantro chopped1 can great northern beans drained1 can chili hot beans, undrained2 medium yellow onions chopped 1 1/2 green red and or orange bell peppers chopped6 cups low sodium chicken stockshredded cheddar cheese and sour cream optional
Directions
heat oil. add ground turkey and cook 5 to 7 minutes breaking up with spoon. Stir in chili powded, salt and cayenne. Stir in garlic, jalapenos, leftover turkey, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste and cilantro. Stir in beans, onions, bell peppers and stock, heat to boiling over high heat. Boil 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium, cook chili 7 minutes.
Transfer chili to 5 quart slow cooker cover and cook on high 5 to 6 hours.

    With the exception of the sodium, this looks like a terrific recipe. I would eliminate the 4 tsps. salt for starters. I think the fat and cholesterol ratings must be off too...nothing here to rate that high. I plan to try it and come back and rate it later. I love chili! Thanks. - 1/9/09
