Cheddar Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients
1 C. White Flour1 C. Whole Wheat Flour1 TBSP sugar2 1/2 Tsp baking powder1 Tsp pepper1/2 Tsp baking soda1/2 Tsp salt6 TPSP chilled unsalted butter1 1/4 C. grated extra-sharp cheddar cheese1 C. cold buttermilk1 egg white
Directions
Preheat oven to 400F degrees. Combine first 6 ingred. in food processor & blend. Add butter & cut in, using pulse, until fine meal forms. Transfer to large bowl, mix in cheese. Mis enough buttermilk in to bind dough.. Turn out onto floured surface & knead gently 10 times. Pat out dough to 3/4" thickess. Using 3" biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits. Transfer to ungreased baking sheet. Brush with egg white. Bake until golden brown and firm to touch, about 18 Min. Serve warm. Makes about 12 biscuits.
