Ingredients
1 pound dry white bean, I use Northern1 medium onion1/4 pound bacon cut into small pieces1/4 cup brown sugar (can use splenda)1/3 cup molasses1 tsp dry mustad1 tsp salt1/2 tsp pepper
Directions
Soak beans in water overnight. Drain and rinse. Place onion and bacon in 2 quart oven proof casserole (with lid). Mix together sugar, molasses, dry mustard, salt and pepper. pour this over beans and add enough water to barely cover. Bake, covered at 300 degrees for 6 hours. After a couple of hours, stir and check beans. You may have to add a bit of water now and then but don't make them too wet.

This can be done in the crockpot for 8 hours on low. Just go ahead in stir in sugar mixture at the start.

I love this recipe, I have been using a similar one. I use splenda brown sugar blend, add 1/4 cup of ketchup and 1 tbsp of Worcestershire. Then put everything in my crockpot for about 7-8 hrs on low.**yummy** my hubby loves it too!! - 2/15/09

Cooked in crock pot for 8 hours on low and it still wasn't ready plus the flavoring was not very good. Won't make it again. - 12/30/09
