Chili Pasta with Beans

Ingredients
3/4 c. chopped onion3/4 lb. ground sirloin (no more than 10% fat)4 tsp. chili powder1 tsp. ground cumin1 tsp. dried oregano2 c. water3/4 tsp. salt6 oz. uncooked pasta (I used Wacky Mac)1 - 15 oz. can pinto beans, rinsed & drained1 - 14.5 oz. can tomatoes with green chilies1 - 8 oz. can tomato sauce
Directions
Heat non stick skillet sprayed with non stick cooking spray over medium heat. Add onion & beef to pan; cook 4 minutes or until onion is tender and beef is browned, stirring to crumble. Stir in chili powder, cumin and oregano; cook 1 minute. Stir in 2 c. water and remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 18 minutes or until pasta is done.

Yields 8 - 1c. servings.

    I made this recipe tonite for dinner, my husband and I both loved it very much-thanks so much for sharing, I will be making this often! I did add 2 cloves of garlic and 3/4 cup chopped green pepper to it (just a touch of added flavor that we enjoy). - 2/19/09
