16 oz. Ground bison (buffalo)3 15oz Cans Tomato SauceFresh Basil, 1/2 BunchDried Parsley, 1 tbspCoarse Ground Pepper, 1 tbsp.Italian Seasonings (to taste)Red Wine, 1 fl ozOnion, 1 large2-3 cloves garlic, chopped
Ground Bison is a *fabulous* alternative to using ground beef, it's got incredible flavor and is much healthier! Enjoy...
Saute' onion and garlic in a large pot/dutch oven. Add ground bison and cooked until browned (5-8 min), and add ground pepper to taste. Add tomato sauce, reduce heat to medium. Add seasonings to taste. Simmer for 10-15min to condense flavors. Add red wine in 2-3 minutes before finishing for best flavor. Reseason with salt & pepper. Serve over whole wheat pasta. Also makes a great sauce for Chicken Parm!
