Ingredients
* Lentils, 1.75 cup * Olive Oil, 1 tbsp * Onions, raw, 1 large * Ginger Root, 2 tsp * Garlic, 4 cloves * Turmeric, ground, 1 tsp * Water, tap, 5 cup * Salt, .5 tsp
Directions
Wash lentils, removing those that float to the top.
Drain well
Heat oil and fry onion, garlic, ginger until onion is golden
add turmeric and stir well
add drained lentils and fry for 1-2 minutes
add water, lower heat and cook for 15 minutes.
add salt to taste (About .5-1 tsp should be more than enough) continue cooking until lentils are soft and have the consistency of porridge.
