So I tried to remake it at home and I think I got the mixture of spices down, just not the quantities.1lb ground chicken or turkey4 cloves garlic, finely chopped1/4 cup finely chopped onions1/4 pine nuts1 or 2 cups cooked basmati rice.here's the spice mix... quantities are still being worked onnutmegcinnamonclovesgarlic powdersaltchopped parsley
Saute onions in a little olive oil until translucent, add garlic and soften slightly, add ground meat and cook through. Add basmati rice, stirring it in the pan. Add water as needed while stirring the rice. You don't have to stir constantly, just make sure there's enough liquid in the pot for the rice to absorb and not burn. When the rice is done, add spices. Experiment with the amounts. I know mine aren't perfect yet.
Serve with a little cucumber dill yogurt.

I made this tonight but I made it for 8 rather than 4. Since I have never herd of this before I made changes that I thought would work and they did!. I added a little sugar and a little bit of brown sugar. I also put a little salsa in it and put it in a tostada shell. It was great. - 3/14/11
