Lorren's Whole Wheat Pie Crust

Ingredients
2 1/4 cup whole wheat flour1 tsp salt2 Tbsp sugar1 stick cold butter thinly sliced9-10 Tbsp icey cold water
Directions
combine dry ingredients with butter....combine with pastry knife until mixture is the size of small crumbs. Add water and divide dough into two parts....roll out. Best if cooked 10-15 minutes in 400 degree oven beofre adding pie filling....makes a toasty nutty buttery crust!

    Used this for an apple pie, and it turned out YUMMY! Was nervous bc whole wheat flour so often doesn't work well for desserts, but this was great. It doesn't make a flaky light bakery type of crust, of course (so doesn't work with quiche) but tastes good and it's nutritious - I will def. keep this! - 5/6/12
