Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients
1.5 tbsp veggie oil1.5 cups broccoli1 cup Bok Choy1 Jalepeno Pepper1 cup Snap Peas2 Garlic Cloves8 oz sirloin2 tbsp Mae Ploy1 tbsp Hoisin sauce2 tbsp cilantro2 cups brown rice
Directions
Chop veggies into bite sice pieces. Dice garlic and jalapeno. Heat wok or large pan on high. Add 1 tbsp of veggie oil and sautee broccoli for 1 minute. Add the rest of the veggies and saute for an additional 3 minutes. Add the garlic and saute for 1 minute. Remove veggie mixture from pan and place in a bowl. Cover with saran wrap to allow the veggies to steam. Add remaining oil and thinly sliced sirloin. Saute about 3 minutes. Drain sirloin and place in separate bowl. Wipe out the pan with a paper towel. Put the steamfresh rice in the microwave and cook to bags instructions. Add the sauces (Mae Ploy, Hoisin, soy sauce, and water) and heat for 2- 3 minutes, until the sauce thickens. Add the beef and chopped cilantro back into the sauce and stir. Serve veggies and beef over the rice. Makes about 2 servings.

    not common ingrediants and high in calroies - 3/12/09

    Actually these ingrediants are VERY common in Asian cooking. They all came from the regular grocery store. As for the calorie count, I am on a 1600 calorie meal plan and it fits in very well. There are tons of veggies and whole grains in this recipe. Weight loss and management is all about balance!
