Hamburger Vegetable Beef Soup

Ingredients
1 pound hamburger browned1 can V-8 juice large1 can corn drained1 can greenbeans drained1 can peas drained3 cans of tomato soup 3 cans of water1 tbls. beef base 1 tsp. salt1tbls. sugar1 tsp. thyme 1 tsp. basil 1 bay leaf 1/2 cup barley 1 small head of cabbage chopped 1 tsp. pepper 1 can of diced tomatos
Directions
In frying pan brown hamburger til no longer pink.
in large soup pan or slow cooker, add all ingredients. drain hamburger and add to soup mixture. Bring soup to a boil and then simmer til cabbage is cooked. about 3-4 hours.

    Tweaked it just a teensy bit. Left out cabbage. Instead of the canned veggies I used 2 bags of frozen mixed veg to cut down on sodium. I added 2 cans of diced potatoes. I also used low sodium V-8. This was sooooo yummy! - 2/27/11

    I kept out the cabbage and used lentils instead of barley. I added approx a third cup of lentils and instead of tomatoes, I used tom. paste. It was a hit with the kids! - 10/14/10
