Directions
" Wick Fowler's 2 Alarm Chili" Kit, 1 pkg. contains NO Artificial flavorings or preservatives Ground Beef, 90% Lean, 2 lbs. Tomato Sauce, 1- 8oz can Water, tap, 2 cans
I don't follow the instructions on the kit exactly; I do not use the red pepper and I add the Chili powder, salt, onions and garlic to my ground beef as I brown it so that the meat absorbs the flavor better. For this reason it is very important to use very lean beef so you don't lose seasoning by draining the fat off. After fully browning the meat, I add it to the other seasonings from the kit along with the tomato sauce and water which I have heating in a 3 quart crock-pot. I allow everything to cook on HI for at least 2 hours checking about every 30 min to prevent burning; however, I PREFER to let it all simmer on low for 4-6 hours, so I either start it and let it cook over night on lowest setting or early in the morning (before work). The Kit makes 6 1-cup servings.
This is something that gets even better after sitting in the refrigerator overnight or freezing, so it is a terrific leftover.
