6 medium pears, pared1/2 cup REAL strawberries 1/2 cup carbonated water (OR instead of the strawberries and carbonated water, 1/2 cup sugar-free strawberry-flavored carbonated beverage)3 egg whites1/4 tsp cream of tartar1/4 cup powdered sugar2 tsps grated lemon peel12 tsps strawberry juice (from cooked strawberries to generate the juice OR frozen strawberries defrosted OR 12 tsps low-calorie strawberry-flavored syrup)
Nutritional calculations uses fresh, whole ingredients, however if you use the syrup and carbonated beverage your calories will still be less than 75 calories per serving.

Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut pears lengthwise in half; place cut sides down in ungreased baking dish, 11 3/4x7 1/2x1 3/4 inches. Pour beverage on pears OR process strawberries in food processor and add carbonated beverage and pour on pears.
Bake uncovered 25 minutes.
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar in small mixer bowl until foamy. Beat in powdered sugar and lemon peel; beat until stiff and glossy. Spoon meringue around or over pears; pour 1 tsp syrup on each pear half OR cook strawberries and pour juice on each pear half OR defrost a package of frozen strawberries and pour juice over pears.
Reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees. Bake until light brown, 16 minutes.
