Southern Smothered Green Beans with Ham

Ingredients
1 tbp EVOOApprox 50 fresh green beans, cleaned 1 medium onion, chopped3 cloves garlic, chopped8 oz mini cubed ham (you can use bacon or sausage too)2 white potatoes, peeled and diced1 tsp salt1 tsp black pepper2 cups water
Directions
Heat up EVOO in a pot and add garlic, onion, and ham. Let sautee until onion is translucent.

Add potatoes, green beans, salt, and pepper.

Pour in 2 cups of water. Stir, turn heat to low. Cover pot and let cook about 45 minutes stirring every so often.

    I completely missed the part where you are supposed to simmer it with water for 45 minutes. I had already omitted the potatoes.. and the dish still came out wonderful. Crunchy sauteed green beans with onions.. delicious! - 1/7/12
