double chocolate oatmeal cookies

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups sugar1 cup butter, softened1 egg1 tsp vanilla1 1/4 cups flour1/3 cup cocoa1/2 tsp baking soda1/2 tsp salt3 cups quick cooking oats6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine butter and sugar, beat at medium speed until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt--stir into creamed mixture. Add oats and chips. Dough is stiff--add up to 1/4 cup water if needed. Form tablespoon sized balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly. Bake 10-12 minutes. makes about 36 cookies.
