Italian Meat Sauce

Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef0.5 lb ground pork1 Tbsp Extra virgin olive oil1 onion, chopped2 garlic cloves, minced0.5 glass red wine2 cups tomato sauce2 Tbsp tomato paste1 vegetable bouillon cubeFresh or dry spices: basil, rosmary, sage, bay leaf
Directions
Heat the oil in a medium size saucepan. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is soft. Add the beef and pork and cook until no longer pink. Add the wine and let it evaporate. Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste and the bouillon cube. Add the spices (if fresh, tie together with a string). Cook over low heat for an hour or more.
Serves 12 or more (in Italy we do not use a lot of sauce on our pasta so I get about 24 servings).
