Quick and Easy Cabbage Soup

Ingredients
4 cups cabbage1/2 c. pinto beans2 medium potatoes, diced1/2 c. each of green beans, carrots and onions6 c. vegetable juice cocktail (V8)1/2 t. each salt/pepper (or to taste)1 t. season salt
Directions
"Dump" all into a large soup pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer at least 2 hours, preferably 6-8 hours. Add water if needed to make consistency you desire. Add salt/pepper as needed, but go easy on salt if you are watching sodium. Add Louisiana hot sauce (couple of drops) if desired. Can also add other calorie free spices.

NOTE: Can add ground beef, turkey, chicken or other meats to make a main dish, but include nutrition info. Also, can add rice if you wish. Again, include nutrition info.
