Sweet and Sour Meatballs Over Rice

1 lb ground turkey1 large egg1 tsp salt1/4 tsp black pepper1 T dried minced onion4T cornstarch (divided)1 T olive oil3 T cider vinegar1 can (15 oz.) pineapple chunks in juice1/2 C sugar1 T soy sauce1 large green bell pepper cut into pieceshot cooked rice (not included in nutrition facts)
In a bowl, combine ground turkey, egg, 1 T cornstarch, salt pepper and onion. Shape into 1 1/2 inch meatballs. In a large skillet, lightly brown meatballs in oil. Drain fat from skillet.
Transfer meatballs to any size slow cooker. Stir together in a small bowl, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, remaining cornstarch and green pepper. Pour over meatballs. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours or on high 2-4 hours. In the last 30 minutes of cooking stir in the can of pineapple. Serve over hot cooked rice.

I'm so sorry, I must have missed an ingredient. I hope your recipe turned out anyway. The amount is 4T with 1T going into the meatballs and 3T added to the sauce mixture.

There is not enough liquid in the recipe. I found it necessary to add about one cup of water after it had cooked about 90 minutes. I also added a bag of frozen stir-fry vegetables along with the pineapple. Splenda works just fine in place of the sugar and rice vinegar substituted for the white. - 1/30/14

I sure must have done something wrong, followed the recipe exactly but substituted Splenda for the sugar. The meatballs were dry as dust, there was no sauce, it started to burn and stick to the pot, and when I stirred in the pineapple things fell apart. Flavour would have been good. Disappointing - 8/8/15
