Uncommonly Good Spicy Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients
2 - 3 tbsp olive oil1 1/2 pounds ground turkey1 large sweet onion, chopped1 bell pepper, chopped2 cups mushrooms, chopped2 tbsp Italian seasoning1 tbsp garlic powdercourse black pepper to taste1 can diced tomatoes 1 can diced tomatoes with mild green chilies2 25oz jars spaghetti sauce (Safeway Roasted Red Pepper sauce is a favorite)20 green olives, sliced (optional)
Directions
In large pan:
Brown ground turkey in olive oil.
Add onions, peppers, and mushrooms. Saute until limp.
Add spices and mix well with above ingredients.
Stir in tomatoes and spaghetti sauce.
Add olives with some of the juice.

Simmer for 10 - 60 minutes ... the longer the better.

Serve over pasta of your choice.
Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

1 serving = 1 1/2 cup.

    Sauce wasn't spicy at all so that disappointed me, BUT it was full of everything a sauce should have and my family loved it. Maybe I'll add crushed red chili flakes or chopped serrano pepper next time. Will def. make again. Thanks for sharing! - 9/16/11
