Whole Wheat pasta with onions, peas and bacon

Ingredients
1 box whole wheat spaghetti 2 slices raw bacon, diced4 cloves raw garlic, minced/grated1 cup diced onion1 cup frozen peas1/2 cup chicken broth1/4 cup olive oil1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheesesalt, pepper, Italian style herbs to taste
Directions
Cook pasta according to package instructions.
While pasta is boiling separately, add oil, bacon, garlic and onion to large skillet pan. Simmer until onion is translucent and bacon is cooked through. Add broth, peas, salt, freshly ground pepper and Italian herbs (oregano, parsley, thyme, basil, etc) and lower heat. When it is ready, add cooked (drained) pasta directly to skillet pan and toss with hot veggie mixture. Allow the pasta to be evenly coated and soak up any remaining broth. Remove pan from heat and toss in grated cheese while the pasta is still hot. Serve immediately.

Makes 8 servings (about 3/4 cup each)
