Emperor's Slow-Cooked Chicken

Ingredients
1/8 cup vegetable oil8 chicken thighs2/3 cup of soy sauce1/4 cup of brown sugar1 teaspoon minced garlic2 teaspoon ground ginger
Directions
1. Heat oil in large skillet on med. heat.
2. Brown chicken on both sides
3. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic and ginger in small bowl.
4. Put chicken in slow cooker, pour sauce over the top, cover and cook on high for 1 hour.
5. Turn heat down to low and slow cook for another 5 hours until juices run clear.

Optional: add 1/2 cup of slivered almonds an hour before chicken is done.
