homemade italian salad dressing
- Number of Servings: 1
Ingredients
Directions
1 tablespoon garlic powder1 tablespoon onion powder1 tablespoon white sugar2 tablespoons dried oregano1 teaspoon ground black pepper1/4 teaspoon dried thyme1 teaspoon dried basil1 tablespoon dried parsley1 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes1/4 cup preferred vinegar1/3 cup olive oil
Mix dry ingredients in a small, resealable container.
Combine vinegar, oil and 2 tablespoons of the mix when you want to make the dressing. (personally i think that much oil is a lot. i like my italian dressing tangier so i use less oil and more vinegar)
You don't have to use cider vinegar. You can use any type you would like.

Way to much oil, not nearly enough vinegar. Tried to use as a quick salad dressing. Didn't work. - 8/3/09

On Saturday I needed Italian dressing as a marinade for red peppers I was going to bbq. I had all of this so I made and marinaded, same day, not so hot. Dried spices need more time to soften and blend. Ate the peppers today! WOW 5 stars! Cut the oil in half and replaced half with balsamic vinegar - 6/15/09
