Mama's Beer Chili (Slow Cooker)

Ingredients
1 large vidalia onion, diced3 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic1 lb 99% fat free ground turkey (Shadybrook Farms)28 oz canned diced tomatoes1 cup beer, dark beer is best3 Tbsp chili powder1 tsp curry powder3 Tbsp hot sauce1/3 cup honey1 cup frozen corn kernals1 can (15oz) kidney beans, drained & rinsed2 Tbsp vegetable broth1/3 cup canned green chili peppers3 chicken boillon cubes1 1/2 tsp flour, to thicken
Directions
Heat vegetable broth in a large skillet coated with cooking spray over medium heat until hot. Add onion. Cook and stir 5 minutes. Add garlic; cook and stir 2 minutes. Add ground turkey to skillet. Cook and stir until turkey is no longer pink. Drain any fat and set turkey mixture aside.

Add all remaining ingredients to slow cooker; stir until mixed. Add turkey mixture and stir to mix together. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or on HIGH for 4 to 6 hours.

    This was very good, I did substitute chicken for the turkey, did not add the corn, reduced the amount of honey, I also added cumin and cilantro, and left out the flour, and I slow cooked it for 12 hours. I would make it again. - 12/24/09
