Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

1 lb dry red kidney beans3 cup water1 glove garlic1 med onion chopped1 rib celery chopped2 tbsp parsley flakes2 bay leaf2-3 tbsp sugar2 1 lbs ring turkey kielbasa sausage2-3 smoked ham hock
Soak beans for 24 hrs. Fry sliced sausage turning over until slightly burnt. Drain on paper towel.
Cook beans in water in soup pot. Add sausage, smoked ham hock, onion, garlic, celery, bay leaf, parsley, & sugar. Bring to boil and then simmer 3-4 hrs. After hour and half remove ham hock, remove all fat and bone and return ham to soup. Serve over rice. Cook rice according to directions.
