Ingredients
Hamburger Soup1 ˝ lbs ground beef1 med. Onion chopped fine1-28oz. can tomatoes2 c. water3 cans consommé or beef broth1 can tomato soup4 carrots, chopped fine1 bay leaf3 sticks celery, chopped fineParsley˝ tsp. thymePepper to taste8 tbsp. pearl barley
Directions
Brown meat and onions. Drain well. Combine all ingredients in large pot. Simmer covered at least 2 hours, or all day. I put mine in the crock pot! Yummy!

    Very nice winter soup. I don't like bay leaf, so left it out. Otherwise, we like this very much. Lots of room to vary the recipe to what is in the fridge on any given day. - 11/30/09
