Raisin Beer Bread

2c Beer2.5c Raisins5c Whole wheat flour1.25c Sugar1T Baking soda0.5t Salt0.5t Nutmeg3 large eggs2.5c Mild cheddar cheese2c Chopped walnuts
Heat beer and raisins in saucepan over medium heat until boiling; remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 20 minutes - until raisins are plump.
Heat oven to 350*. Mix dry ingredients in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients and spoon batter into two greased loaf pans. Bake for 40 minutes and cool in pans 10 minutes before placing loaves on wire rack.
Slice bread into 1/2" x 2-1/2" servings. This is especially good when served warm with butter!
